First Day in the New House

Ashley's mom was awesome and drove all the way from Rochester to help us clean.  She brought all the supplies we could need to get the house all cleaned up for our move-in, just a couple weeks away.  We packed sandwiches and snacks for the day.  It felt like we were going on a picnic!

Ashley and her mom worked tirelessly in the kitchen, cleaning it from top to bottom.  Brendan worked with the previous seller's friend to remove left over items from the house and garage. We looked like a bad example of the "women in the kitchen and the men in the garage" saying.  But it worked for us! It was a busy day, but great cleaning progress was made!
Ash is just the right size for cleaning out the cupboards!

At the end of the day, our minds were spinning with all that there was to do.  We already had 3 plans of action for what rooms we would work on next, but none of them seemed to put us at ease.  Our two type A personalities were being put to the test!

Ashley was exhausted!

As we were finally cleaning up, there was a knock at the door.  Our next door neighbors had stopped by to bring us cookie and water to introduce themselves!  It warmed our hearts. We had heard such great things about our neighbors, but this was proof of the wonderful neighborhood we joined.

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Cue Brendan's bad joke: "I couldn't believe the dog made such great cookies!"
This was definitely the perfect way to end a great first day in the house.
